1 Year No Dry!

Now that’s calling it out – bold, simple, honest, and confident…

Welcome to the bold and beautiful pen from Platinum Japan¹

These have a history that is more than a century old.

Plaisir packaging
With the tagline
Plaisir pen

In this instance, the brand is calling it out loud and clear – you can buy the pen, not use it for a year, and still pick it up to write anytime!

It doesn’t happen perchance, mind you. (You bet they would have worked their asses off, on innovation and research)

While this could be seen as a play on marketing by some, I wanted to bring out another side to it.

In their journey, they have set a benchmark, while the pen market is flooded with options leading to choice overload for most people 😄

As something for us all to learn from, this is beyond and bigger, than the brand / marketing aspects alone.

Sometimes, sharpening the focus and being audacious will go a long way in separating you from the competition. Throw in a bit of  confidence on your abilities / talent. Nothing else is as deadly..

What’s your audacious statement?

Mine?

10 things will lead you straight to me!

Another go?

10 on 10!

If it is still cryptic,

10 of my articles are top ranked on Google search²

That’s my power statement (and calling as i see it).

It all begins with a purpose and a plan.

Most times, we carry one of those and seek the other. We seldom have both.

And it does not matter the qualifications you have or the experience you carry, if your purpose –> plan awareness is weak or passion non-existent.

While we are grappling with the above, it sometimes might just help to show a crazy side as well.

How else can we stir things up a bit?

Chew on this!

I grew up collecting fountain pens. I just had a passion of collecting them, writing with them and showing them off to my classmates at that time. I used to write poetry a lot and had a dedicated book for it which is now lost in time. Everything written in that book was using one of those fountain pens. Sheafer, Waterman, Pelican, Lamy, Parker, Hero to name a few of the brands I had in my collection

Life has sucked the poetry out of me. Writing with those pens and the poetry written is lost in time and unfortunately as circumstance would have it, can’t be relived. It’s not the same writing poetry in the digital world where you can’t romance the pen, paper and the memory you want to bring to words

I agree, and you are right. The feel of pen on paper can’t be romanced in the digital world. Well said, Mujtaba.
